Béeso Dah Yiníłjaa’ is a version of the 1964 Western film A Fistful of Dollars that has been dubbed entirely in the Navajo language. The project was spearheaded by the Navajo Nation Museum as an effort to preserve and revitalize the language, particularly among younger generations. The film, originally a “spaghetti Western” starring Clint Eastwood, was chosen partly because it does not feature any Native American characters, thus avoiding the often inaccurate or offensive portrayals found in many other films of the genre.
