Just like nighttime dreaming—⁠—interpreted in the context of places and progenitors—⁠—mediates access to the spiritual and religious domains, Altyerre captures the complex and persistent relationship between the ancestral and dream realms. Such acts of dreaming constitute an objective experience in which time and space are no longer obstacles, and in which information of great importance is gained by the dreamer. The same is true for the sacred songs and narratives that describe the Dreaming, timeless stories of ancestral beings and country also called Altyerre.
